This world is run by greed. We're told and led to believe that in the dawn of Artificial Intelligence, we'll all greatly benefit from it.
AI is just a tool to make the rich richer, as are most other predatory "advances" in technology: social media; quantum computing; virtual and augmented reality for example(s). These advances aren't to enrich our daily lives, but are mostly being constructed to either further control us and our behaviors (spending) or distract us from what's really "going down."
As the rich get richer, and a select few more people are invited into the rich person's club - do you honestly think we'll see a cure for cancer come out of Artificial Intelligence? I doubt it.
AI is being hailed as a super genius tool though, so what's the problem? The problem is that even if there were a cure for an awful disease like cancer, we wouldn't be told about it. There's much less money in curing disease than there is in treating it.
This world is run by greed and it's a damn shame.
